Sharon Barang'a, a renowned journalist, has made headlines with her incredible achievement of building a 4-bedroom house for her parents. The project, which began in 2020, is a testament to her dedication and love for her family.

According to Barang'a, she started building the house in March 2020, during the first lockdown in Kenya. The house is a self-contained four-bedroom bungalow with complete wiring and plumbing. It's 80% complete and her mother is already living in it.

Barang'a's journey to building the house was not without its challenges. She lost her father in June 2020, just as the house was nearing completion. In a heart-wrenching account, she shared how devastating it was to build a house for her parents, only to have her father pass away before he could even stay in it.

Barang'a's story is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. She has been an inspiration to many with her resilience and determination. In October 2020, she landed a new job at TV47, where she heads the Education desk.

Barang'a's announcement on social media read: 'Well, God heard your prayers. I am now part of the fastest growing TV station in the country, TV47 Kenya. I join the team as the head of Education desk/Snr. reporter.'

Barang'a has been a trailblazer in her career, winning several awards, including the ICFJ's Early Childhood Development Reporting Contest in 2016.
