Acorn Holdings Launches KSh 1.9 Billion Student Hostels in Nairobi's Karen

On June 24, 2021, Acorn Holdings announced the launch of its KSh 1.9 billion student accommodation hostels in Nairobi's Karen through its subsidiary Spruce Properties Limited Liability Partnership.

The hostels, branded Qwetu and Qejani, will provide safe, secure, and affordable accommodation to students, with charges ranging from KSh 7,500 to KSh 16,500 per room.

The 3,591 room-hostels will be ready for occupancy by the end of 2022 and will accommodate approximately 10,000 students from JKUAT Karen Campus, Catholic University of East Africa, Cooperative University, Kenya School of Law, and other nearby institutions.

Acorn Holdings aims to provide quality accommodation to students, with the hostels featuring nine residential blocks on a 5-acre plot.

The company has other upcoming projects, including the KSh 810 Million Nairobi West Qwetu hostels targeting Strathmore University, the KSh 880 Million Qwetu 3, and the KSh 740 Million Qwetu 4 developments targeting United States International University Africa (USIU Africa), all set for completion in 2021.
