June 23, 2021, marked a tragic day in the life of Herman Rowenhorst, a Dutch tycoon who was brutally murdered in his home. What's more shocking is that he had initiated divorce proceedings against his wife, Riziki Cherono Ali, just four months prior to his death.
According to statements obtained by homicide detectives from two of Rowenhorst's children, aged 14 and 12, the deceased had informed them of his decision to end the 13-year-old marriage. The minors revealed that their father had told them he would no longer be living with their mother but would continue to take care of them.
The children also disclosed that on the night of the murder, their mother had opened the doors for three strange men and led them into the master bedroom before a commotion ensued. When everything went silent, their mother escorted the three men out of the house before they all drove out of the apartments.
Coast regional police commander, Paul Ndambuki, confirmed that the two minors had confessed to detectives the events of the fateful night and that they were closing in on the main suspect in the heinous crime.
“Investigations are at an advanced stage, we are making a breakthrough in the case and soon those involved will be brought to book,” Ndambuki said.
