Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, two of the top contenders in the Kenyan Premier League, suffered setbacks in their respective matches on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

While Gor Mahia played out a goalless draw against Mathare United in Thika, AFC Leopards fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the same Mathare United side in a relegation battle.

Meanwhile, Tusker FC reclaimed the top spot in the league after securing a 2-1 win over Western Stima, while KCB FC remained in second place, awaiting their match against Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday in Nakuru.

Mathare United's victory marked a significant boost to their fight for survival, with Eugene Wethuli scoring the lone goal in the first half.

Coach Frank Ouna secured his first win since taking charge, as Mathare United earned three crucial points.
