On June 22, 2021, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) received a significant boost in its fight against crime with the donation of 18 motorcycles from the Federal Republic of Germany.

The motorbikes, including top-of-the-range BMW 1250CC bikes, were handed over by German Ambassador to Kenya Annette Guenther in a ceremony held at the DCI headquarters.

The German envoy praised the cooperation between German and Kenyan investigative agencies, stating that the donation would complement the DCI's existing means of transport and enable quick access to crime scenes.

DCI boss George Kinoti acknowledged the immense support received from the German Embassy, expressing gratitude to Germany's GIZ and BKA programmes for their aid to the DCI.

Present during the ceremony were BKA Police liaison officers Stefan Koch, Harald Gessner, and Rene Becker.
