On June 23, 2021, Vybz Kartel's social media presence came to an end, marking a significant change in his life behind bars.

The 'Worl Boss' had maintained a strong online presence, with his last Instagram post dating back to May 20th. However, his transfer to Horizon Remand has brought an end to his social media activities.

According to his attorney, Isat Buchanan, Kartel has been moved from Spanish Town to Horizon Remand, a facility with strict restrictions on cell phones.

Word on the street is that the transfer is part of the government's plan to move high-ranking criminals to the newly constructed cells at Horizon Remand, where cell phones are strictly prohibited.

This is not the first time Kartel has been transferred to a new facility. In 2018, he was moved from Tower Street Adult Correctional Center in Kingston to St Catherine District Prison after a video emerged of him enjoying a blunt while at the facility.

Kartel had previously spoken out against the Jamaican government's claims that dancehall music was a catalyst for the island's surging crime rate. He took to Instagram to rubbish the claims, stating that the prison's most offenders were the police and pastors.

During his time at St Catherine correctional center, Kartel collaborated with fellow jailed singer Tommy Lee on the release of their song 'Dark Ages' two months ago.

Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams, and his defense team is lodging an appeal on grounds that their client was fixed.

Will the transfer finally mark an end to Kartel's music releases?
