On June 21st, 2021, Samsung announced the Galaxy A22, a budget smartphone that is set to enter the local market soon.
The Galaxy A22 is part of Samsung's smartphone lineup, which includes the Galaxy A12 and the Galaxy A32, as well as the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, both of which are available locally.
Safaricom is set to offer the Galaxy A22 at launch and the device is already up for pre-order on the company's online marketplace, Masoko.
Those who pre-order the device on Masoko starting today will have it delivered starting mid next month (July 14th).
However, there's a catch: instead of ordering the 64GB onboard storage variant, anyone can order the 128GB variant during this pre-order period for the price of the former (Kshs 23,500).
But here's the problem: Safaricom is still listing the 64GB internal storage variant, so the assumption is that by ordering that one, you're ordering the 128GB variant.
To avoid unpleasant surprises come the 14th, you can make a point of contacting Masoko before placing your order just to be sure.
The offer runs through to July 22nd, so you still have time to make up your mind as well as get all the clarification you may need.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 features a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a choice of 4 and 6GB RAM, a quad-camera arrangement at the back heralded by a 48-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel selfie camera and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast-charging.
