Businessman Charged with Illegally Refilling Gas

On June 22, 2021, a businessman appeared in court to face charges of illegally refilling various brands of LPG gas without authority from brand owners.

Abdi Maalin Ali, the accused, was charged alongside Mustafa Adan Ibrahim, who was not present in court and was issued a summons for his appearance.

The court heard that the duo committed the offence jointly with others on May 26, 2021, at Salama Gas Limited's LPG storage and filling facility in Embakasi.

According to the allegations, the duo was found with several brands of gas without authority from the owners to fill them, including K-Gas, Total, Lake Gas, Men gas, Hashi gas, Hadi gas, and Super gas.

Maalin was ordered to deposit a cash bail of Sh100,000 to secure his release.
