On June 22, 2021, a motorist driving a Subaru Forester was sprayed with bullets by a three-man gang aboard a motorbike in the Ruiru Gwa Kairu area along the Thika Superhighway.
The victim, whose name was not known at the time of the incident, was rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital for treatment.
According to Area police boss Dorothy Migarusha, the victim had more than 10 bullets pumped into his body.
Photos and videos from the scene showed eyewitnesses crowded at the area and a traffic snarl-up in the vicinity.
The incident occurred just hours after another woman was shot and seriously wounded by thugs on a motorcycle in the Greenspan area, Donholm on June 21, 2021.
She was headed home when the suspects shot her in the chest, grabbed a bag that she had, and sped off.
The middle-aged woman was left lying in a pool of blood and is currently fighting for her life in hospital.
