Kenyans' Fears: High Cost of Living, Corruption, and Unemployment

Published on June 30, 2019, a report by Infotrak Research and Consulting shed light on the concerns of Kenyans regarding the country's direction.

According to the survey, 53% of respondents identified the high cost of living as the biggest problem facing Kenya, followed by corruption at 33%, and unemployment at 18%.

Furthermore, the survey revealed that 58% of Kenyans were dissatisfied with the 2019/2020 national budget, while only 17% expressed satisfaction, and 25% remained unsure.

Interestingly, 26% of respondents attributed Kenya's direction to President Uhuru Kenyatta, while 55% credited him with steering the country in the right direction.

Additionally, 17% believed that both President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga contributed to the country's progress, while 7% pointed to the efforts of President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The survey also highlighted the popularity of political parties in Kenya, with the Jubilee Party leading at 40%, followed by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) at 21%, and the Wiper Democratic Movement in third place with 3%.
