On June 22, 2021, Shiksha Arora's life took a terrifying turn when she was mugged in Nairobi's Central Business District.

Arora, who was walking home from work, was attacked by a group of thugs who stole her valuables and left her shaken.

She recounted the horrific experience in an interview, saying:

"I was walking home from work when I was suddenly surrounded by a group of people. They were all wearing masks and had their faces covered. They started hitting me and taking my belongings. I was so scared that I thought I was going to die."

Arora's mugging experience serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in Nairobi's streets, especially for women.
