On June 22, 2021, Busia County government provided relief to families affected by floods in Budalangi by donating foodstuffs, blankets, mattresses, and iron sheets.
According to the Busia County Governor, Sospeter Ojaamong, the county has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ampath and NHIF to enable locals benefit from the scheme.
He urged residents of Budalangi and Busia at large to enroll with NHIF cover for better access to medical services, which will facilitate the implementation of the National Government's Universal Health Coverage programme.
As part of the pilot phase, Bunyala was selected with at least 1,000 individuals registered, and the county aims to register 1,000 more beneficiaries from Bunyala.
The county boss also inspected county projects in Bunyala South Ward, including the construction of an Early Childhood Development of Education (ECDE) Centre and the assessment of Makhoma Poultry Park, Lugale Market, and Khajula Level 2 health centre.
