Applying for a Kenyan passport has become easier with the integration of Telkom Kenya's T-Kash payment method on the eCitizen portal. As of June 22, 2021, citizens can now use their mobile phones to apply for a passport and make payments using T-Kash.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:
Step 1: Create an eCitizen Account ¶
Start by visiting the eCitizen portal and signing up for an account if you haven't already. You'll need your national ID card and mobile phone to complete the registration process.
Step 2: Access the Directorate of Immigration Services ¶
Log in to your eCitizen account and navigate to the National Services section. Click on the 'Directorate of Immigration Services (New Applications)' and select 'Get Service' to access the passport application portal.
Step 3: Apply for a Kenyan Passport ¶
Click on the 'Passport Application' option and fill in the required details in the online form. Make sure to upload any necessary supporting documents, such as identification documents for yourself, sponsor, and parents.
Step 4: Pay for the Application using T-Kash ¶
At the checkout stage, select Telkom T-Kash as your payment method and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment. Once the transaction is successful, download and save the invoices and documents for printing and presentation at the appointed application receiving facility.
With these simple steps, you can now apply for a Kenyan passport and pay for it using Telkom Kenya's T-Kash on the eCitizen portal.
