Imara United, a Nairobi-based football club, is one of the oldest clubs in the country, alongside AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, which are also competing in the Betking Kenya Premier League.
The club, previously known as Maragoli United, has been competing in the Nairobi West Regional League under the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Western Branch.
According to coach Milton Ombote, the club has talented players who are eager to secure promotion to the top tier and win tickets to the Nairobi West Regional League next season.
Coach Ombote emphasized that many clubs in the country are facing financial challenges, which has led to many talented players being unable to showcase their skills.
Imara United has been competing in the Nairobi County League this season and has shown promise with recent wins.
Coach Ombote believes that if the club can secure funding and continue to compete in the top tier, it will take them at least seven years to achieve success.
Assistant coach Ronado Mavuko echoed Ombote's sentiments, urging the team to work hard and treat every match as a final.
The club's manager, Adeya Nerbard, has appealed to the Maragoli community to support the team financially, as this has been a major challenge for the club.
Despite facing financial challenges, Imara United has been able to develop talented players, including Charles Owino and Victor Otieno, who have been successful in their careers.
The club has won several titles, including the Chapa Dimba, Safaricom Super and Extreme Cup.
Imara United's team includes Ronado Mavuko, Felix Oyange, Maurice Omondi, Erick Owino, Edwin Campbell, Robert Ouko, George Odede, Kennedy Odour, Kevin Shikwa, Victor Otieno, and Brian Omondi, among others.
