Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka is facing a paternity suit after a woman claimed to be pregnant with his child.
The woman, who has moved to court, alleges that Lusaka has refused to take responsibility for their unborn baby and has even suggested terminating the pregnancy.
According to court documents, Lusaka has consistently rejected his association with the pregnancy despite his full knowledge that they have been having unprotected carnal knowledge together since 2018.
The woman is seeking Sh25 million in child support and has asked the court to order Lusaka to pay the amount pending the determination of the petition.
Lawyer Danstan Omari, representing the woman, claims that Lusaka's refusal to accept responsibility and assist the applicant to access esteemed hospitals capable of giving her highest standard of prenatal care threaten the life of their unborn child.
Justice James Makau has certified the matter as urgent and directed the woman to serve Lusaka, with the case set to be heard on July 7.
