On June 21, 2021, reports surfaced online that Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka had been sued by a woman seeking Sh200,000 per month in support for her unborn child.
The woman, through her lawyer Danstan Omari, alleges that Lusaka has refused to take responsibility for his actions, despite being the father of the unborn child.
According to court documents, the woman and Lusaka have been in a relationship since 2018, and she became pregnant after an unprotected sexual encounter with him in May 2021.
The woman claims that she has been dealing with pregnancy difficulties that could endanger her unborn child's life, yet Lusaka does not want to associate with her.
She is seeking a flat payment of Sh25 million from Lusaka if he is unable to meet his monthly obligations of Sh200,000.
Reacting to the news, Governor Mike Sonko took to Twitter to mock Lusaka, saying, 'How can a whole speaker kukula dry fry akishaskia utamu wa nyama kwa nyama anaruka msichana wa wenyewe because he's a speaker. Na hii ndio tabia yake. Shame on you @SpeakerKLusaka.'
