On June 21, 2021, the Government launched the second phase of the Covid-19 sensitization campaign in Kenya, aimed at raising awareness of the disease and its latest developments, particularly regarding virus mutation.
Speaking during the launch at Uhuru Park grounds, Principal Secretary Esther Koimett emphasized the importance of adhering to containment measures to curb the spread of the virus.
"This campaign aims to sensitize our people on the importance of strictly observing the containment protocols in order to protect themselves and their loved ones," said Koimett.
The campaign, scheduled to run from June 21 to June 27, 2021, across the 47 counties, aims to create more awareness and inspire citizens to be more vigilant.
County Information Officers are working in collaboration with National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOS) to ensure the campaign's success in their respective regions.
As of the campaign's launch, Kenya had reported 179,293 positive Covid-19 cases and 3,461 fatalities, with a positivity rate of 8.5% and 122,965 recoveries.
