Speaker of the Senate Ken Lusaka is facing a court battle over alleged child support for an unborn child.
A woman has moved to court seeking Ksh. 200,000 monthly upkeep for their unborn child, claiming they have been in a relationship since 2018 and have engaged in unprotected sex.
According to court documents, the woman alleges that Lusaka cut off contact with her after she refused to abort the unborn child.
Lawyer Shadrack Wambui, representing the woman, argues that she has the right to a decent standard of care from conception, citing the constitution.
‘‘What she is asking is not too much, our client needs protection and money so that she can attend reasonable hospitals at this early stage,’’ Wambui said.
