On April 16, thieves stole three guns from Kamaron AP camp in Nandi South while officers watched the UEFA Champions League soccer match.
After a two-week hunt, detectives from the DCI closed in on the stolen guns in Kakamega, Nandi, and Uasin Gishu counties on June 28.
Three suspects were arrested and are set to be arraigned on Monday, July 1.
According to the DCI, the suspects led detectives to the location of the stolen guns, which were buried in two farms and a house.
One of the guns was found buried in a house in Kamakut Village in Uasin Gishu County, while another was discovered in a maize plantation in Nandi South.
The third gun was recovered from a farm in Langas-Kapsaret, where it had been buried by one of the suspects.
The stolen guns included a G3 rifle with 20 rounds of ammunition, a G3 with no magazine, and another G3 rifle with 15 rounds of ammo.
The DCI commended the detectives for their hard work in recovering the stolen guns and bringing the suspects to justice.
