On June 15, 2021, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that Kenya's Covid-19 positivity rate had dropped to 8.1%.
This development comes as the United States lowers its travel advisory level for Kenya from four to two, adjusting travel guidance for vaccinated Americans in the process.
Of the 456 new cases reported, 424 are Kenyans while 32 are foreigners. The cases comprise 266 males and 190 females.
The youngest person to test positive is a two-month-old infant, while the oldest is 92 years old.
Kenya's total confirmed positive cases now stand at 176,137, with cumulative tests conducted reaching 1,876,105.
Over the past 24 hours, 535 patients have recovered from the disease, with 439 recovering through the Home Based and Isolation Care program and 96 from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, 7 people have succumbed to the disease, with 6 of the deaths reported after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in June.
As of today, a total of 1,138,748 vaccines have been administered across the country, with the majority being first doses.
