Kenya's Covid-19 positivity rate has dropped to 8.1%, according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe. This comes as the United States has lowered its travel advisory level for Kenya, adjusting travel guidance for vaccinated Americans.
Out of the 456 new cases, 424 are Kenyans, while 32 are foreigners. The cases include 266 males and 190 females, with the youngest being a two-month-old infant and the oldest being 92 years old.
Kenya's total confirmed positive cases now stand at 176,137, with cumulative tests conducted reaching 1,876,105. In the last 24 hours, 535 patients have recovered from the disease, with 439 recovering from the Home Based and Isolation Care program and 96 from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, 7 people have succumbed to the disease, with 6 of the deaths reported after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in June. This now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 3,428.
As of today, a total of 1,138,748 vaccines have been administered across the country, with 989,422 first doses and 149,326 second doses. The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 15.0%, with the majority being males at 56.4% and females at 43.6%.
