On June 15, 2021, OdiBets announced a partnership with Charles Odongo, a rising star in the Kenyan sports scene, popularly known as 'The Ugali Man'.
As part of this partnership, Charles Odongo has been appointed as the OdiBets Brand Ambassador. He will receive a brand new seven-seater Voxy van, a cash boost to support his sporting career and fitness business, and a fully kitted gym, valued at over KES 5 Million.
Charles Odongo's partnership is part of OdiBets' grassroots talent development initiative, Odi Mtaani, which aims to identify and nurture unique talents in Kenya.
According to Dedan Mungai, General Manager of OdiBets, the company believes that more funding is needed to develop talent at the grassroots level. He stated, 'OdiBets will continue to support unique talents like Charles Odongo, who are passionate about their careers. We believe there are thousands of hidden and promising talents in the country that can be nurtured.'
Since its inception, OdiBets has invested over KES 500 million in Kenya, supporting various sports development initiatives, including kitting programs, county sports sponsorships, and grassroots soccer competitions. The company has also supported Kenya's national soccer team, Harambee Stars, and sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala.
Mr. Mungai added, 'We hope that our partnership with Odongo will inspire more Kenyans to showcase their unique talents and be bold enough to try. The digital space is giving talents a platform to flourish.'
