On June 15, 2021, a Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) official testified in a Nairobi court that a Maralal petrol station associated with Samburu Governor Moses Kasaine Lenolkulal received millions through various bank transactions from Samburu County Government.

According to the KCB Maralal branch manager, Johnstone Kirui, between May 9 and December 24, 2013, Oryx Service Station received a total of Sh3,284,760 from Samburu County Government. The payments were made using cheques of between Sh100,000 and above.

The court documents showed that on May 9, 2013, Oryx Service Station received Sh375,470. The payments were allegedly made to the petrol station to supply fuel to the Samburu County Government.

Lenolkulal and eight other co-accused, including county secretary Stephen Siringa Letinina, are facing charges of conspiracy to commit corruption and abuse of office. They are accused of unlawfully acquiring public property worth Sh84,695,996.55 for the supply of fuel to the Samburu County Government through Oryx Service Station.
