Chris Kirubi's son Robert Kirubi made a surprising career choice, turning down his father's offer to work in the family empire. In an interview last September, Chris Kirubi revealed that his son had chosen to pursue his own career path.
Robert Kirubi, the only son of Chris Kirubi and an international corporate executive, currently works as the Head of Global Customer Programs at DHL Service Logistics in Brussels, Belgium.
Before joining DHL, Robert held various positions within the company, including Vice President in charge of business development and client support.
Speaking about his children, Chris Kirubi said, "My daughter is here in Kenya, she's the MD of my factory, Haco Industries. My son is in Brussels, he works for DHL. I think they pay him so much money he refused to work for me, but it's good he has also accumulated a lot of experience."
Robert Kirubi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Boston, USA. Before attending university, he attended local schools in Kenya, including Hillcrest School and St Mary's School, where his classmates included President Uhuru Kenyatta and media personality Jeff Koinange.
Chris Kirubi's daughter, Mary-Anne, runs the Olpul Restaurant at Two Rivers Mall and serves as the Managing Director of Haco Industries. She is married to lawyer Andrew Musangi.
