On diverse dates between 30th October 2018 and 12th February 2019, Jefferson Mugambi Marete allegedly obtained Sh 5 million from Richard Alfred Gitonga Wagichung’e in Nairobi Central Business District, Nairobi County.
According to the allegations, Marete pretended to be in a position to import a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 on behalf of Wagichung’e, a claim he knew to be false.
On 15th June 2021, Marete was charged before Resident Magistrate Jackline Kamau and granted a bond of Sh 1 million with an alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.
