Chris Kirubi, a respected businessman and media mogul, has left a lasting legacy in Kenya's business and media landscape.

On June 14, 2021, at 1 pm, Kirubi passed away at his home surrounded by his family, bringing an end to his courageous battle with cancer, which he had been fighting since 2018.

As the founder of Centum, Kirubi was a pioneer in Kenya's business world, with a portfolio that included Vipingo Business Park, Ridge, Two Rivers Mall, and Capital FM, among other notable ventures.

His family announced his passing in a statement, saying, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Christopher J. Kirubi (1941-2021) who passed away today, Monday the 14th of June, 2021 at 1 pm at his home after a long battle with cancer fought with fortitude, grace and courage. He was surrounded by his family."
