Chris Kirubi, the founder of Centum Investment Company and a prominent media mogul, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old.
According to his family, Kirubi died on June 14, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. In a statement, they announced his passing, saying, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Christopher J. Kirubi (1941-2021) who passed away today, Monday the 14th of June, 2021 at 1 pm at his home after a long battle with cancer fought with fortitude, grace and courage. He was surrounded by his family."
Kirubi had been battling cancer since 2018, when he received the diagnosis during a routine medical check-up. Despite his illness, he remained a prominent figure in Kenyan business and media circles, owning several notable companies, including Vipingo Business Park, Ridge, Two Rivers Mall, and Capital FM.
