On June 12, 2021, a significant step towards enhancing security in Molo, Nakuru County, was taken with the unveiling of a newly built police dog kennel.
The kennel, a result of a partnership between the police and the community, is expected to play a crucial role in tackling insecurity cases, particularly highway robberies that have plagued the area.
Nakuru County Deputy Police Commander Joseph Tonui expressed his gratitude to the community for their efforts in improving security, stating that the venture would go a long way in addressing the issue of insecurity.

"The trained police dogs will help in patrolling the highways and bringing to book criminals stealing goods on transit along the highway and vandalizing businesses," Tonui explained.
He also noted that another police dog would be dedicated to dealing with those trafficking drugs.
Evans Ngige, chairing the business community, expressed hope that the project would create a conducive and secured environment for all to carry out their day-to-day activities and see to it that crime rates decrease.
"The kennel will accommodate three police dogs but we plan to expand it in the near future," Ngige said.
