State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena is married to Nick Mararo, the CEO of Base Yetu, a youth empowerment initiative that has been making waves in Kenya.
Base Yetu, which translates to 'my home' in Swahili, is a social rehabilitation and community empowerment program focused on sports activities and community development.
The organization reaches out to the youth through various activities, including pool tournaments and entertainment events featuring popular musicians and media personalities.
One of the notable events organized by Base Yetu is the pool tournament, which attracts many fans and players who stand a chance of winning up to Sh500,000.
Members of Base Yetu also enjoy medical expenses refunds, a disability cover, and funeral covers.
Base Yetu has also been involved in recognizing and rewarding talented individuals in the country. In 2017, the organization informed Radio Jambo presenter Mbusii that he had been awarded a Head of State Commendation.
However, Mbusii revealed that he missed the ceremony at State House and Kasarani Stadium, where the commendations were awarded to other celebrities, including Dennis Itumbi, Robert Alai, Ben Githae, and Rufftone.
Base Yetu's CEO, Nick Mararo, has a close relationship with Mbusii, as revealed in a recent interview with Jalang'o.
Mararo and Mbusii have collaborated on several projects, and their friendship has been a subject of interest among Kenyans.
Mararo's marriage to Kanze Dena was a closely-guarded affair, with the event being held in her home county of Kwale over two days.
The couple exchanged wedding vows in a secret ceremony attended by close family members and invited guests.
