On June 12, 2021, the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) donated essential items to seventeen people living with disability (PWDs) in Gucha Sub County, Kisii County, at the Deputy County Commissioner's office grounds.
The beneficiaries received packages of welding machines, horse pipes, wheelbarrows, leather tool kits, knitting machines with singer(s), white canes, and salon equipment to enhance their economic and mobility status.

NFDK Programs Officer Alan Okeyo advised the beneficiaries to utilize the items for their empowerment and not to sell them.
"You are among the first people to receive this assistance, and I urge you to seek more help from other organizations like the National Council for People with Disabilities," Okeyo said.
Sub-County Assistant County Commissioner Grace Naserian urged the beneficiaries to adhere to health protocols due to the upsurge in Covid-19 cases in the region.
Sub-County Chairperson for the Disabled Charles Osoro shared his personal experience of utilizing a welding machine from a previous allocation, which helped him educate his children and build a house for his family.
