On June 12, 2021, Czech tennis player Barbora Krejcikova made history by winning her maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open. The 25-year-old defeated Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in a closely contested final, winning 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.

This victory marked Krejcikova's first Grand Slam title and made her the first Czech player to lift the Suzanne Lenglen Cup since Hana Mandlikova won in 1981.

The match was a back-and-forth affair, with both players showing impressive skills and determination. Krejcikova won six consecutive games to take the first set, but Pavlyuchenkova fought back to level the match at one set all.

However, Krejcikova broke decisively for 4-3 in the final set, extending her winning streak on clay to 12 matches. The Russian player had her left thigh taped at 5-2, but Krejcikova served it out to secure the win.
