Three suspects arrested as detectives recover 102 stolen phones in Kibra

On Friday, detectives conducted a raid in Kibra, leading to the arrest of three suspects in connection to a spate of robberies targeting motorists along the Southern By-pass.

Among the arrested was Winjira Unganyi, a mobile phone proprietor of Basement Crew shop within Lindi in Kibra, who is alleged to be in the business of acquiring mobile phones from robbers and selling them to locals at cheap prices.

Unganyi was found in possession of 102 recovered mobile phones, which were believed to have been stolen by robbers targeting motorists along the Southern By-pass.

Two other suspects, Alex Mboya and a 16-year-old minor, were also arrested in connection to the robberies.

According to the DCI unit, the arrests followed detailed analysis and investigations of the robberies, with detectives employing cyber and forensic analysis techniques to identify the beneficiaries of the crimes.
