On June 10, 2021, Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Planning Ukur Yatani took to Twitter to address claims that prices of bread and motorcycles would rise, as per the 2020/21 budget.

According to reports, the budget had hinted at a potential increase in prices of bread and motorcycles, but a corresponding reduction in taxes for medical supply dealers.

However, CS Yatani denied these allegations, stating that there would be no rise in prices of bread and motorcycles.
