NMS Secures Sh48.3 Billion in Budget for Smooth County Operations

On June 10, 2021, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani announced that Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) would receive Sh48.3 billion for the 2021-2022 financial year.

The allocation includes Sh27.2 billion from the national government and Sh21.1 billion from the county government.

According to Yatani, Sh18 billion will be channelled towards recurrent expenditure, while Sh9.2 billion will be dedicated to development expenditure.

Under recurrent expenditure, Sh11.1 billion will go towards employee compensation, Sh6.6 billion towards goods and services, Sh50 million as transfers to government agencies, and Sh302.2 million on non-financial assets.
