On Thursday night, a hotel watchman lost his life in a brutal attack at the Slopes hotel in Embu. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when three individuals, posing as clients, visited the hotel.
According to the Commanding Police Division (OCPD) in Embu West, Joshua Meli, the suspects were armed and forced their way inside the premises after their demands were rejected.
"The gang first broke into an M-Pesa shop at the hotel before heading to the third floor, where they attempted to break the safe," Mr. Meli explained.
It is suspected that during this time, the suspects may have had an altercation with the watchman as he tried to block them. The police boss added, "The gang slit open the throat and dumped the body in one of the rooms."
The body has been moved to the Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary as police hunt for the three men.
