Kenya's COVID-19 positivity rate has reached alarming levels, surpassing the World Health Organisation's recommended threshold of 5 percent. According to the latest data, the rate stood at 10.3 percent on May 25, 2021, after 382 people tested positive for the disease out of a sample size of 3,719.
As of May 25, 2021, the total number of confirmed positive cases had risen to 168,925 out of 1,787,093 cumulative tests conducted since March 2020, when the disease was first confirmed in the country.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe reported 14 late deaths over a 24-hour period, bringing the fatality toll to 3,087. Additionally, Kagwe announced that 957,804 patients had been vaccinated against COVID-19 countrywide by May 25, 2021.
