Comedian Felix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang'o, has set his sights on the Lang'ata Parliamentary seat, which he believes he can win.
Speaking to the press, Jalang'o expressed confidence in his ability to unseat the current MP Nixon Korir, who has been serving his first term since 2017.
‘I am going to be the MP for Lang’ata. I urge my followers to register as voters in Lang’ata so that we can develop the constituency to another level. I don’t go for things I cant get,’ Jalang'o said.
His announcement comes after months of speculation about whether he would run for the seat or not.
Notably, Jalang'o is the second high-profile candidate to declare interest in the seat, following Silas Jakakimb, an aide to Raila Odinga, who announced his candidacy weeks ago.
While Jalang'o has yet to announce the party he will use to vie for the Lang'ata seat, it is likely that he will face stiff competition from Jakakimba, who is expected to seek an ODM party ticket as an aide to the ODM leader.
