On May 11, 2021, Deputy President William Ruto met with outgoing Romania Ambassador to Kenya Julia Pataki in Karen, Nairobi County, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ruto emphasized the importance of cooperation between Kenya and Romania, citing the significant growth it has brought and the numerous opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the people.
“Cooperation between Kenya and Romania have sustained huge growth, giving room for the exploration of many opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the people,” Ruto said.
He also commended Ambassador Pataki for her efforts in enhancing relations between the two countries during her tenure in Kenya.
The Deputy President highlighted the potential for cooperation in areas such as tourism and agriculture, particularly in the production of tea and coffee, which he noted was largely untapped.
Additionally, Ruto acknowledged the need for Kenya to learn from Romania's expertise in cybersecurity, which he described as a challenge in the fast-changing technological world.
