According to reports, mrambe has been recognized as a traditional custom of the Sapere people, with a 2018 court ruling by Magistrate D N Musyoka confirming its legitimacy.
The beverage, which has an alcohol concentration of 12%, is marketed towards customers under the age of 35, and has gained popularity among locals and expatriates alike.
