Published on May 11, 2021, Anthony Joshua's patience is wearing thin as he waits for an agreement to be reached over his undisputed heavyweight title fight against Tyson Fury.
Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn had been expected to make a formal announcement last week, but the fight's status remains uncertain. Hearn insists that the fight is 'on' and 'happening', but Fury's team seems to be dragging their feet.
Joshua took to Twitter on Monday night to address Fury directly, urging him to end the wait and take action. 'Spartan,' he wrote, 'I'm tired. My fans are tired. Your fans are tired. We're all tired of the talk. Less talk. More action!'
The two heavyweights have been reviewing contracts at the beginning of the month, but it seems that Fury is taking his time. Joshua, on the other hand, has been training in the UK since last month, guided by his usual trainer Rob McCracken.
Fury, the WBC titleholder, has been training in Las Vegas alongside trainer Sugarhill Steward. He has not fought since beating Deontay Wilder in February 2020, while Joshua won his last bout against Kubrat Pulev at the end of last year, knocking out the Bulgarian in the ninth round to retain his world heavyweight titles.
