On May 11, 2021, LSK President Nelson Havi announced his intention to run for the Westlands Parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections.

According to Havi, his main agenda if elected would be to drive infrastructural development, create wealth, and alleviate poverty at the constituency level.

"I have accepted the request of the People of Westlands Constituency to serve them and the Nation in that capacity effective August, 2022 or earlier if Parliament is dissolved. If you give me the opportunity to serve you I will serve all of you equally," he said.

Havi, who aims to oust current MP Tim Wanyonyi, emphasized the need for an MP who would fight for the rights of Westlands residents and ensure they receive development projects.

Before announcing his candidacy, Havi toured the constituency, visiting Friends Church Kabete and Pentecostal Assemblies of God Muthangari for spiritual nourishment.
