With the recent release of KCSE results, many students are left feeling discouraged and uncertain about their future. However, educationist Hon. Mary Ariviza Mwami is urging them not to give up hope.
According to Mwami, students who have not achieved the grades they were hoping for should focus on developing their talents and creativity. "Don't get discouraged, don't allow hopelessness to come in and tell you that you didn't get marks like your friend that you're useless. Creativity will bring you a lot of money," she said.
Interestingly, it has been reported that some students who did poorly in KCPE have gone on to achieve excellent results in KCSE. This highlights the importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving academic success.
For students who are struggling to make ends meet, there is hope on the horizon. The Nairobi County Education committee has announced that bursaries will be available before the end of the term. The bursaries, which will be disbursed by the county, will provide financial assistance to students in need.
According to Mwami, the bursaries will be available to students in all 85 wards of Nairobi County. Each ward will receive Ksh3.5 million worth of bursaries, which will be used to support students in secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and driving schools.
