Kenya's Covid-19 Positivity Rate at 3.6% as 66 Test Positive

On May 10, 2021, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported 66 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 1,833 tested in the last 24 hours.

The new cases bring the total confirmed positive cases in the country to 163,620, with a positivity rate of 3.6%.

Out of the 66 cases, 65 are Kenyans, while one is a foreigner. The cases comprise 45 males and 21 females, with the youngest being a six-year-old child and the oldest being 81 years old.

The distribution of positive cases by age is as follows: 0-9 years (3), 10-19 years (2), 20-29 years (11), 30-39 years (14), 40-49 years (9), 50-59 years (9), and 60 and above (18).

Additionally, 12 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative fatalities to 2,907. One of the deaths occurred on a diverse date within the last one month, while 11 are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits.

Kenya's total recoveries now stand at 112,298, with a total of 1,737 patients recovering from the disease. Of the total recoveries, 82,138 are from Home Based Care and Isolation, while 30,790 are from various health facilities.
