Kenya Premier League record champions Gor Mahia have been working tirelessly to regain their fitness levels ahead of the resumption of the FKF Premier League on May 12, 2021.

According to the club's assistant captain, Philomen Otieno, the team's progress in training has been impressive, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent suspension of sports in Kenya.

“Preparation has been good since we resumed training. Before the break, we were determined to continue working hard, but all is not lost, we are on again and working to regain our fitness to win matches,” Otieno noted.

The Football Kenya Federation has released a revised fixture list for the FKF Premier League, which includes Gor Mahia's match against Wazito FC on May 12, 2021, at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.

However, the delay in the resumption of the league has put Kenya at risk of failing to have representatives in next season's CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, with the continental football body setting June 30 as the deadline for submitting clubs' names.
