Get ready for a spectacular celebration of African culture and talent as the Africa Day Concert returns on May 25th. This year's event will be hosted by none other than Golden Globe and SAG winner, Idris Elba.
As announced by YouTube in partnership with MTVBase, the concert will feature trailblazing Kenyan and other African artists, shining the light on Africa's next wave of talent making their mark on the global stage.
Building on the success of the inaugural Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home in 2020, which brought African and global superstars together to celebrate Africa Day and raise funds for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's concert will be a Pan African event featuring artists from across the continent.
Performing on multiple stages from Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg, the virtual concert will be a live stream event for a global audience on YouTube and broadcast on MTV channels. The event will be a testament to Africa's creative and cultural renaissance, accelerated by artists who are claiming a unique space in the world.
