Published on May 10, 2021, Comedian Tr. Wanjiku has become a symbol of resilience in the face of online abuse.
Despite being trolled and ridiculed by social media haters, Tr. Wanjiku has continued to grow her brand, with over a million followers on her Instagram page.
Speaking about her experience, Tr. Wanjiku shared a throwback photo of her with comedian Sleepy David, taken in January 2014, just before her show was cancelled.
'It was not funny then, it took me a year to get over it!' Tr. Wanjiku wrote on social media. 'I was sad and frustrated, be very careful who you trust, not everybody has your best interest at heart.'
Tr. Wanjiku also spoke about the impact of the online abuse on her career, saying that she was trolled and abused on social media for nearly a month, and that no TV station wanted to work with her after the show was cancelled.
However, Tr. Wanjiku has used her experience as a lesson, saying 'It is okay to start again. No shame in it. I learnt that when someone tells you 'We want to put up a show for you' think twice my friend think twice!'
