On May 10, 2021, a group of 15 youths were arrested and charged with being in possession of contraband at Mucangara Trading center in Kirinyaga.
According to Anthony Mbogo, a local resident, the youths were found with a large quantity of contraband, including six bottles of Ice Vodka, playing cards, and CDs.
They were also found with a large quantity of cash, which they claimed was for a 'back to school bash'.
The youths were later taken to court and charged with various offenses.
It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred last month in Rachuonyo East Sub-County, Homa Bay County, where 36 youths were arrested and charged with being in possession of contraband.
