Uhuru Briefed on KCSE Results Ahead of Public Release

On May 10, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta was briefed on the results of the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations at a meeting with Education CS Prof George Magoha.

The results were presented to the President by Education CS Prof George Magoha, who was accompanied by other senior officials, including Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua, Early Learning and Basic Education PS Dr Julius Jwan, TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, and KNEC CEO Mercy Karogo.

President Kenyatta expressed his appreciation for the smooth administration of the examinations and congratulated the 2020 KCSE candidates on their performance, despite the challenges posed by Covid-19.

At the same event, the President witnessed the swearing in of Prof Fatuma Chege as the Principal Secretary of the new State Department for Implementation of Curriculum Reforms within the Ministry of Education.

President Kenyatta expressed confidence in Prof Chege's ability to steer the ongoing roll out of the new curriculum, saying, "You have been at the forefront in the development of this curriculum. You know what needs to be done."
