On May 10, 2021, Mizizi Africa Homes marked a significant shift in the housing industry by announcing the construction of responsive homes. This innovative approach empowers clients to take the lead in designing new housing units, reflecting the changing dynamics in housing design trends.

The developer has observed a growing demand for unique features such as old-fashioned styles, art and crafts, organic and natural wall textures, and rustic looks. Additionally, first-time homeowners, particularly in the youth bracket, are seeking homes that offer flexibility to accommodate work and leisure activities.

"We are moving away from traditional approaches where architects approximated client preferences to a new dispensation that heavily relies on customer opinions," said George Mburu, Chief Executive Officer of Mizizi Africa Homes.

The company's latest project, SSS Waiganjo Estate, is a 16-unit development featuring 12 bungalows and 4 mansionettes. This project marks the company's first foray into flat roof design and has already sold out, with construction underway.

"This is our new way of viewing things in line with our customer-first approach. We believe it will give our designers even better and clearer insights in coming up with out-of-the-box ideas to deliver beyond our customers' expectations," added Mburu.

The developer is utilizing its digitized systems and a recently launched WhatsApp Chatbot to monitor customer preferences and document new trends. This data will help the architectural team refine their designs and deliver exceptional results.
