On Sunday, AC Milan dealt a significant blow to Juventus' top-four hopes with a resounding 3-0 victory in Turin, a result that has left the Old Lady on the brink of missing out on Champions League football for the first time since 2014.

The breakthrough came just before halftime, courtesy of a rebound from Brahim Diaz after Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had cleared a Hakan Calhanoglu free-kick.

However, Milan should have doubled their lead just before the hour mark when Giorgio Chiellini was judged to have handled the ball, but Szczesny denied Franck Kessie's weak penalty.

Despite the setback, Milan's star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was forced off with a knee injury after 65 minutes, and Diaz was replaced five minutes later.

But the Rossoneri's lead was doubled when Anton Rebic scored a fantastic strike with 12 minutes to go, and Fikayo Tomori sealed the win with a headed goal just minutes later.

Earlier, Atalanta had brushed aside relegated Parma 5-2 to move back into second place, with Gian Piero Gasperini's side closing in on a third consecutive season of Champions League football.

Atalanta's top attack in Serie A was on full display in Parma, with Ruslan Malinovskyi grabbing the first goal after 12 minutes, and Luis Muriel and Matteo Pessina combining for the second six minutes later.

Muriel then struck twice within 10 minutes in the final quarter of an hour to bring his tally to 21 goals this campaign, and Aleksei Miranchuk grabbed a fifth in injury time after Juan Brunetta and Simon Sohm had pulled two goals back late for Parma.
